I am a born and bred Northlander and after working in Wellington and the U.K and traveling the world my husband and I settled back in Kerikeri, in 2006, to raise our two boys close to family.
I have had a passion for education through entertainment since my teenage years and have been making puppets since I was seven and so I have continued to spend my working life creating magic for families and children. When my first son was born I started my own production company called The Magic Play House which has produced educational puppet entertainment for the Northland Regional Council, Department of Conservation, New Zealand Association of Environmental Educators as well as touring our own shows throughout NZ. I have also produced many successful family events for Kerikeri Plunket and made mascots to appear at public events throughout Northland.
My latest adventure is taking me back to my original purpose which was to make educational television for 3-7 year olds that supports them with essential lessons in life skills. The Illumination Workshop is a registered Charity and will follow in the footsteps of Sesame Street, offering children a safe place to learn and offering many talented Northlanders a place to share their amazing talents.
